Hello! Thank you for those who have been so supportive. I am Annie, also known as @knittingannie on instagram. You are reading this, so you must also know that this is my new blog. Please excuse the sparse/incomplete design. I have a custom design being made for me and it's not ready just yet.
This is my first podcast! What an adventure it has been trying to upload it. I'll have to do some research for next week on getting better video resolution as well as turning the camera the other way! I'll include show notes below. I was SO nervous. Actually, I'm still quite nervous. Thank you for watching.
Notes:
I am on Ravelry, but am debating on a name change, so I will reserve sharing that info with you until I've decided.
Thank you for the inspiration: Dani of LittleBobbinsKnits. You can find Dani's podcast on her YouTube channel here. You can also find her in her Ravelry group, little bobbins knits, as well as on Instagram as @littlebobbins.
Thank you to Cara of Knit All the Things Podcast. You can find her Ravelry group here. As well as watch her podcast on her YouTube channel here. Cara is @cara.thompson on Instagram.
There are THREE people who will win the #knittinganniephotochallenge. The main prize is a special handpainted skein of yarn from Rijel Lewis of Black Market Wool. The skein is a new base being released in January. It is called Northern Winter Night and it is handpainted on a beautiful blend of 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere and 10% Nylon. It is very squishy soft! Thank you To Rijel for donating such a lovely prize! You can find Rijel on Instagram as @RIJELVIOLET
The main winner will also receive a skein of handspun yarn by yours truly, made of gradient dyed roving by the lovely Jennifer Beamer of expertlydyed. I purchased this roving from Jennifer and was SUPER delighted with it. They will also receive a little packet of handmade stitch markers.
The second winner will receive yarn from Cascade, a handspun skein and stitch markers.
The third winner will receive spinable fiber that I will blend specially for them! (Oh and some stitch markers, too!)
WIP Info:
Errata: The thrummed mittens that I show in the video were inspired by LittleBobbinsKnits, but were not a December project. Dani began that thread in October. My, how time flies! I better finish those mittens! The etsy shop that I purchased the roving for the thrums is Three Waters Farm. They have the BEST colors.
The throw that I'm working on is made by a kit from Loopy Mango. The needles come with!
My FO is Bedford Springs Shawl (with cobweb frill) by Kathy Zimmerman for Kraemer Yarns. It is knit from their brushed mohair yarn with sparkle.
Two more things... If you know how to pronounce the tea I was drinking (ROOIBOS), please tag me on instagram in a little video of you saying it. It would be SO helpful!
Lastly, do you have any New Year resolutions? Are they fiber related? Are you a gluten free eater like me?
Thank you for watching! If you'd like to contact me, you may find me on instagram or leave me a comment. :) See you next time!
Well done, Annie! I enjoyed your podcast and you didn't seem nervous at all! Mamagiff on ravelry
